# Delete my account

If you want to delete your account you can do so from within your account settings. 

1. Visit[ blacksky.community](https://blacksky.community/)
2. Log in to your account
3. Navigate to Settings
4. Select Account
5. Click Delete account
6. Confirm via the ema

⚠️ **Warning**: Deleting your account is a permanent action that will erase your account information including posts, profile information, and follower/following lists. If you prefer to [deactivate your account](/using-blacksky/account-management/deactivate-my-account.md) instead, this will make your profile and posts invisible, while allowing you to [reactivate](/using-blacksky/account-management/reactivate-my-account.md) at any time you choose.
