# Create an account

To create an account with Blacksky simply: 

1. Navigate to [blacksky.community](http://blacksky.community) 
2. Select ‘Create an Account’ 
3. Follow the prompts to input your email, password (and birthdate depending on the region you’re in)
4. Input a username
5. Select a domain from the dropdown list
6. Note: Blacksky.app, afrolatinsky.app, and latinsky.app were created to provide safe spaces for members of those communities (those who identify as Black and Latinx respectively) and therefore should not be used by those who are not.
7. If you have your own custom online domain (e.g. [janedoe.xyz](http://janedoe.xyz)) you can change your handle to your own domain once you’ve created an account
8. From this step you’ll be able to add a profile picture, share your interests, and be given suggested accounts to follow to get you started.
